AI for firms that answer to a regulator.

Regulated firms can use AI. What they can't do is outsource responsibility for it. Islands AI builds AI systems for GFSC and JFSC regulated businesses (trust and corporate services, fund administration, wealth management, legal) designed around that reality: AI does the heavy reading and drafting, a named human approves every output, and everything is logged. Typical deployments cut periodic review preparation and CDD file assembly time dramatically while improving consistency. Data can remain on-island, including fully on-premise installations where nothing leaves your building.

What we build for regulated firms

  • Identity and document extraction: passports, IDs, utility bills and corporate documents read into structured CDD data, with confidence scoring and human verification of every field.
  • Periodic review drafting: the system assembles the client file, flags changes and risk indicators, and drafts the review for your administrator to check and sign. Hours of reading become minutes of review.
  • Screening workflow support: structured handling of screening results and escalations, with a full audit trail of who saw what and decided what, when.
  • Policy and procedure intelligence: ask questions of your own compliance manual and regulatory guidance, with answers cited back to source documents.
  • Board and regulator-ready documentation: every system ships with a description of controls, data flows and human oversight, written for your compliance officer, not for developers.

Flarion

Our compliance platform, Flarion, packages the document extraction and periodic review capability for independent Channel Islands fiduciaries. It can run in the cloud or entirely on hardware inside your office. Demonstrations are available on your own sample files.

The governance posture, in one paragraph

Human-in-the-loop by default: AI drafts, staff approve. Full audit logging: inputs, outputs, model versions, reviewer, timestamp. Data minimisation: we design exactly what leaves your environment, and for on-premise deployments the answer is nothing. Vendor due diligence pack available: we know what your compliance function needs to see because procurement-grade documentation is part of how we build.

Private AI: local models on your own hardware

Two concerns dominate board conversations about AI right now: what it costs when usage scales, and where the data goes. A private deployment answers both. We run right-sized open models on dedicated hardware inside your office for the workloads that suit them, such as document extraction, classification and internal drafting, so the meter stops running and the data never leaves the building. Frontier cloud models are used only where a task genuinely demands them, and only through data flows you have approved. We are honest about the trade-off: local models are not frontier models, which is why we design hybrid by default and put each workload on the cheapest tier that does the job properly. The result is predictable cost instead of a per-token bill, and a security posture your regulator can inspect.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GFSC allow AI?

There is no rule against using AI. Firms remain responsible for outcomes, governance and data protection, exactly as with any outsourced or automated process. Our systems are designed so you can evidence that control: human approval, logging and documented data flows.

Can client data stay in Guernsey?

Yes. On-premise deployment on dedicated hardware in your office is our flagship option for fiduciaries. Island-hosted and UK-hosted options exist where on-premise isn't needed.

How much time does this actually save?

The honest answer is that it depends on your current file quality, which is why we start with a paid audit on your own sample files rather than quoting fantasy percentages. The pattern we see: reading-heavy tasks (reviews, CDD assembly) compress from hours to minutes of checking.

What does it cost?

Compliance audits and pilots follow our standard ladder: audit £2,500 to £5,000, pilots from £3,500, production deployments typically £10,000 to £30,000, on-premise installations scoped individually. Fixed quotes, no day-rate creep.
